If the freshly leaked information that just surfaced online is accurate – and it comes from a normally dependable source – we now know a lot more about the Oppo Find X5 Pro that’s on the way.

The leak comes from WinFuture, and it includes everything from internal specifications to phone renderings. Like many of the Android flagships launching in 2022, the phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

This processor is expected to be accompanied by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage (non-expandable via memory card). With a battery capacity of 5,000mAh and a maximum power consumption of 80W, battery life should not be an issue with this smartphone.

Camera Features

A triple-lens 50MP+50MP+13MP back camera with 5x optical zoom is stated. This is consistent with previous reports about the phone’s camera specifications, and it doesn’t appear that there will be a significant boost in this area.

We also get a close look at the Oppo Find X5 Pro in black and white, from a variety of perspectives. The same strange camera hump that we observed on the Oppo Find X3 Pro is again in evidence, although it looks as though the main lenses have swapped to the opposite side this time. The phone is anticipated to have a 6.7-inch, 3216 x 1440 pixel, 120Hz display, as previously leaked. All that’s left is for these specifics to be confirmed, which might happen during MWC 2022 — the mobile tech expo kicks out on February 28.

What’s More? The Phones From Oppo And Oneplus Are Getting Closer

The more attentive among you may have noted that, aside from aesthetics, the Oppo Find X5 Pro sounds strikingly similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro — many of the specifications are identical, including the 6.7-inch screen size and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset under the hood.

This is understandable: Last year, OnePlus and Oppo announced that they would merge, bringing together a number of the hardware and software teams. It’s likely that a few phone models may become obsolete along the way.

We’ve been fans of both Oppo and OnePlus phones in recent years, so it’s a shame that there won’t be as many in the future – though the firms clearly believe that by joining forces, they’ll be better able to compete with Samsung and Apple.

If you’re wondering what happened to the Oppo Find X4, the number four is considered unlucky in China and so has negative connotations. The Oppo Find X5 Pro will be the Oppo Find X3 Pro’s immediate successor.
