Review Of The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro Small Earbuds, Big Sound

While Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro continue to dominate the wireless earbud market, not everyone is a fan of the fit or design. Don’t get me wrong: I adore my AirPods Pro (though others may prefer the normal AirPods), but I also like to have some colour in my life, and white isn’t always enough. That’s why I like to look into alternative possibilities.

Though I love traditional headphones, I prefer genuine wireless earbuds because of their portability and convenience. I had to check out the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro when I realised that Anker had recently introduced them due to the buzz – they even come in a stunning purple colour!

Bottom Line

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is a compact speaker with tremendous sound and ANC. Despite their unusual appearance, they are comfortable to wear and come with plenty of extra tips and wings for the optimum fit. They charge rapidly and have a long battery life.

The Good
  • Crisp sound quality with ANC and Transparency
  • Comfortable fit with multiple size tips and wings
  • USB-C or Qi-compatible wireless charging and good battery life
  • Easy-to-use charging case
  • Comes in multiple color
The Bad
  • Fit does take a little getting used to
  • Hard to get out of the case
  • Slightly expensive

Price And Availability For The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro earphones are available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Soundcore’s website. Dusk Purple, Fog Gray, Frost White, and Midnight Black are the four colours available. Best Buy, on the other hand, exclusively has the white and black colours. The purple and grey colours are available on Amazon and Soundcore’s website.

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro costs $170 at retail. Keep an eye out for them on sale from time to time.

Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro By Anker Is A Stylish And Customizable Sound System

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro are in-ear earbuds without a stem, unlike Apple’s AirPods. They have a bean-like shape that distinguishes them from other competing buds, but they also have rubber “wings” that impact how they fit in the ears. Anker also includes four alternative sizes of ear tips and wings, so if the default medium size doesn’t fit, you should be able to find one that does.

Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro comes with four different sizes of tips and wings to ensure a proper fit.

The Liberty 3 Pros come with a charging case that is designed like a giant pill. The backside contains a USB-C charging connector — though any Qi-compatible wireless charger will work — as well as a button to reset the earbuds. The top slides open instead of flipping open like typical cases. Small LED lights pulsate on the inside of the case to indicate that the buds are charging, and there are three LED indicators on the exterior that light up when the case is charging. Magnetic connections are also included, making it easier to align the earphones for charging. However, due to the design of the cover and the earphones, removing them is a bit of a pain.

Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is a dual-driver design that improves the sound quality of your music. The bass and midrange drivers are dedicated to one another, while the highs are smoothed off by a smaller dynamic driver. The ultimate product is something that isn’t overly bass-heavy, but still has enough of it to keep you interested, and the vocals are crisp and clear. The Liberty 3 Pros, on the other hand, are approximately average for voice calls – not great, but not horrible either.

The ANC and Transparency setting on the Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is one of its most notable features. With the touch-sensitive controls on the earphones, you can switch between Normal, ANC, and Transparency mode in the app or on the earbuds themselves (default is touch-and-hold for two seconds).

The sound of a distant motorcycle was quickly filtered out as I enabled ANC on the Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro, and I can’t even hear the heater that I use in my workplace, even though it’s right next to me. The difference is immediately noticeable once I enable Transparency and allow ambient noise to pass through. Although I believe the AirPods Pro’s ANC slightly outperforms the Liberty 3 Pros, it’s still a great deal for the price.

What’s More?

The touch controls are adequate, albeit I believe the touch sensitivity is a little excessive. Single-tap is disabled by default since it’s far too easy to mistakenly activate with the tiniest touch. As previously stated, you can customise any of the controls using the app: single tap, double tap, touch-and-hold for two seconds, and triple tap. It takes a little practise to master all of the controls and activities.

With all of this in mind, the Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros should last roughly eight hours on a single charge. However, the total playtime will differ depending on whether or not you have ANC turned on. If the charging case is fully charged, it will provide another 24 hours of gameplay, for a total of 32 hours. You may charge the case (wirelessly or via USB) without the earbuds in it, ensuring that it is always fully charged.

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros also support multipoint connections. This means you may connect the Liberty 3 Pros to two devices at the same time, and switching between them is simple. They’re connected to iPhone 13 Pro and iMac, and toggling between the two is seamless.

The Fit Of The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro Takes Some Getting Accustomed To

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros have an odd design due to the wing, which took some time to get used to. While Anker has a variety of tip and wing sizes, not everyone will enjoy how they fit and feel. They are fairly comfy once you get used to them, but they are not like regular earphones.

When it comes to the shape, getting them out of the charging case is a bit of a pain. It’s awkward enough to put them back in the case because you have to turn them around to get them in. However, they almost lay flat in the charging case, making it difficult to remove if you have larger fingers. Even though I have smaller fingertips, I still have problems – it’s easier for me to simply push them out. When it comes to the earbuds and charging case, the design isn’t my favourite.

Because of their form and how they lay flat, it’s difficult to remove the earphones from the charging case. Last but not least, the Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros are still reasonably priced. They’re only $10 cheaper than the most recent AirPods 3, but $79 cheaper than the AirPods Pro. There are more affordable true wireless earbuds on the market, and some of them even offer ANC. Still, the Liberty 3 Pros sound great and are well worth the money if you don’t want to invest in AirPods Pro.

Should You Buy The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro?

If you’re looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the book for you
  • With ANC and Transparency, you want good sound quality
  • You’re looking for something less expensive than AirPods and AirPods Pro
  • You prefer earbuds that are brightly coloured
If you’re looking for a unique way to express yourself, this isn’t the product for you
  • You want to be able to pair your Apple devices with ease
  • You don’t like in-ear earbuds and prefer on-ear headphones
  • You’re on a tight budget

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro are your buds if you’re looking for wireless earbuds that sound good, have ANC and Transparency, are pleasant to wear, and last all day. They’re also available in four different colours and are less expensive than Apple’s AirPods Pro, its major competitor. While the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro does not have the same level of seamless Apple device integration as AirPods, it does feature multipoint connectivity, allowing you to use it with two devices simultaneously.

Of addition, some people may not be able to wear the Liberty 3 Pros due to their distinctive shape and style. This is primarily due to the rubberized wing, which takes some getting used to. Also, it’s a fact of life that not everything will fit everyone. However, if they do fit, they are extremely comfortable, especially when worn for extended periods of time. And, while the charging case is great with the sliding top, getting the earphones out might be a little difficult at times, especially if you’re in a rush.

Finally, even though the Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros sound great and have a lot of useful functions, the pricing is still a little high. Still, they’re worth the money in terms of quality if you can obtain them. Apart from my AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, they are one of my top three audio goods, so I think they’re really good.
