WhatsApp Will Soon Allow Message Reactions

What is the most irritating feature of WhatsApp? It’s the difficulty to swiftly respond to someone’s message, causing me to either send an emoji as a separate reply or compose a lengthy response that is entirely unneeded. The capability is available in Facebook Messenger as well as a number of other chat apps such as Signal and Viber, but not on WhatsApp.

What’s More?

This could change in the not-too-distant future. The reaction function has gone live for certain users who have loaded the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.22.8.3, according to WABetaInfo.

Thumbs up, heart, pray, laughing face, sobbing face, and shocked face are among the emoji available, which are comparable to those found in other messaging apps.

Digging In More Details

For the time being, it appears that just a tiny percentage of people are receiving this choice. WABetaInfo, on the other hand, believes that everyone should be able to see the reactions (which makes it even more frustrating for those who can’t).

There are no certainties as to when (or if) the function will be available to everyone, but WhatsApp looks to have been working on it for months, so it’s not far away.
